DMG Mechanic 1.0

DMG Mechanic has been retired!

Ever downloaded a .dmg file (MacOS X disk image) only to find it is recognized as being a SimpleText document or a generic file? Double-click the file and you will get some kind of error, even though you know it can be mounted with Disc Copy. This is exactly what DMG Mechanic will fix for you. It sets the file's type/creator codes so it will open with Disc Copy, both under OS9 and OSX. Easy. (Note: the current release of Disk Copy for OS9 does not support .dmg files)

You can still download DMG Mechanic from our Software Archive, but be aware that we can NOT provide support for this software. Yes, this means we will NOT respond to ANY emails concerning DMG Mechanic. Also note that you will need a unreleased version of Disc Copy for DMG Mechanic to work!
